One of the most tricky sections of SAT is the writing and language section. High schoolers tend to think that they can approach SAT writing in the same way they did in high school. However, it is important to know that SAT is entirely different from what you are used to.

Sure, it tests some of the same grammar rules that you already know, but it does it in a unique way. Writing and language is the second section on the test right after reading. Combined with your reading score, the writing and language section makes up your total SAT verbal score.

The writing and language section is 35-minute long with 44 multiple-choice questions. Basically, you will be required to read passages and then do a variety of tasks such as editing passages, replacing words, correcting grammar and punctuation etc.
